POSTNATAL PILATES 

HELPING YOU RECONNECT WITH YOUR BODY AFTER PREGNANCY AND CHILDBIRTH

 

My Postnatal Pilates classes focus on supporting the body’s restoration after childbirth, improving core function and helping you feel connected and in control of your body.  There is no one-size fits all when it comes to postnatal recovery, and I aim to work with each person as an individual to help you work in a way that is most appropriate for you, your body and your goals.  

As a member of the Guild of Pregnancy and Postnatal Exercise Instructors, I am committed to delivering high standards in supporting pregnant and postnatal women and regularly updating my knowledge.  I am a certified Pre and Postnatal Pilates Specialist, and hold the level 3 award in adapting exercise for pregnant & postnatal women.  I am also a certified teacher of The Center Method for Diastasis Recti Recovery.

 

My Postnatal Pilates classes focus on restorative movement to support the pelvic floor, abdominals, and pelvic alignment.  Providing you with support and information to help you reconnect with your body after childbirth.  The class is relaxed and you are welcome to ask questions along the way and tend to your baby as needed.  Group classes are a lovely way to meet other new Mums and share stories, advice and questions.

Class numbers are kept small so that each person receives a good level of support.  You will be guided through the best variations of exercises for your individual needs.  

New postnatal clients are required to start with a Postnatal Starter Package.  The starter package includes an introductory 1:1 session plus 5 consecutive group classes.  Thereafter you can continue your classes on a pay as you go basis or as part of a membership package.

Existing clients who are already members will need to book an introductory 1:1 before joining the postnatal class and you can take advantage of your member discount when booking.

The introductory 1:1 is important to ensure that you get the most out of your group classes according to your own body's needs.  We will spend sometime discussing your postnatal recovery and identifying particular areas for consideration.  I will perform a diastasis recti check (abdominal separation) and provide advice regarding physical activity in the months after childbirth.  We will also work through some of the key techniques used in the group classes.
