ONLINE CLASSES AND ONE TO ONES

Classes from the comfort of your own home

In response to social distancing measures that were put in place from March 2020, all Precision Poise classes and one to ones have moved to online, live streamed classes delivered via the Zoom platform.  Here is some helpful information about joining online group classes or arranging online 1:1 sessions.

What are the benefits of online streamed classes?

These are live classes, not pre-recorded.  I operate strict maximum size limits on all my classes so that every still receives that personal touch, with observation, guidance and support throughout the class.  You can attend the class from home.  You do not need a fancy studio space, just work with what you have available to you.  As long as you can fit your mat on the floor and reach your arms out to the sides then you should be fine.  

Who can join?

I have taken the decision to open up the online classes to people from all areas.   It is so important for our wellbeing to still be able to move, exercise and stay connected with our bodies during this time, and I would like to be able to help as many people as possible to achieve this, regardless of where in the UK you are or whether you would normally be able to get to one of my studio classes.

What do I need?

You will need a device with internet connection and a camera, such as a smart phone, tablet or laptop.  You will also need an exercise mat to lie on.  It can be helpful to have a cushion nearby, or a head block if you have one.  If you are attending a pregnancy class, you will also need a Swiss ball/birthing ball.

What classes are available online?

I am currently running a range of mat classes, see timetable below.  In addition I am also running two "Pilates for the HomeWorkplace" sessions per week.  These are short, chair based sessions that target typical problem areas for desk workers, particularly whilst home working, such as neck & shoulder tension, back pain and tightness in areas such as hips and hamstrings.  These sessions run on Wednesdays and Fridays 12.00 - 12.20pm.  The can be booked via the book online page, in the same way as group mat classes, and cost only £3 per person to attend.

Ballet Fitness Fusion classes are £5 per class to attend, and all Pilates Mat classes are £6.75 per class to attend.

How to book?

All classes are being offered on a pay as you go basis, so you are not tied into a minimum term or tied to a set class each week.  Simply book and join us when you can.  Booking and accessing your class is simple.  Book and pay for your class via the online booking system.  You will automatically receive a booking confirmation that contains the class access link.  Simply click the link at the class start time to be taken directly to the online class via the Zoom platform.  If it is your first class with me I will also email you personally to say hello, and will send you a link to the online health form to complete and submit before your first class.  This is to make me aware of any injuries or conditions you may have, so that I can guide you appropriately during the class

Do I need previous experience to join a class?

Most of my classes are suitable for all abilities, including beginners.  The only exception is the improvers Pilates Mat class on Thursdays at 8pm as this class is designed specifically for those who have some prior Pilates experience and can work at a more flowing pace.  

If you are joining my Postnatal Pilates class, or if you are joining any other class and are less than 6 months postnatal, you will need to have at least one private 1:1 session with me before joining the group classes.  I recommend Mums start with the new client package as this includes a 1 hour session during which we will discuss your birth experience and physical recovery, guidance for safe exercise in the postnatal period - particularly with regards to the pelvic floor and tummy muscles - and work through some of the most important exercises from the group class.  You will then receive a 40 minute follow up 1:1 in which we address any questions from the first session and recap the exercise techniques.  Your first group class is also included in the package price (£55 for 1x 1hr 1:1, 1x 40 minute 1:1 plus 1x group class)

Will new classes be added to the timetable?

I am happy to add new classes to meet demand.  If you would like to book onto a class but it is already full when you come to book, please add yourself to the waiting list.  You will be automatically be notified if a space opens up before the class start time and this also helps me identify any classes that may be oversubscribed.  If the demand is there, I will look to add a new class to the timetable.  The best way to keep up to date on any new classes is to Like/Follow @PrecisionPoise on Facebook.

How do I arrange a 1:1 session?

I am offering 1:1 Pilates Mat sessions online.  These are typically done via the Zoom platform but can also be held via other platforms such as Skype or FaceTime if preferred.  If you would like to arrange a 1:1 or series of 1:1s with me please contact me directly via studio@precisionpoise.com or by using the contact form on this website.  We can then discuss your requirements and arrange a time/day suitable for you.  You will be sent an extended health form to complete which includes details of any particular goals you might have or areas you wish to work on.   I am currently running 1:1 sessions on Wednesday and Friday daytimes.  Other days/times may be available on request.

Single 40 minute session: £25

Single 1 hour session: £40

5x 1 hour sessions: £190

10x 1 hour sessions: £350
