Diastasis Recti is characterised as a separation of the abdominal musculature. This condition can affect the strength and function of the abdominal region, and may contribute to abdominal weakness, pelvic floor dysfunction, lower back pain and "mummy tummy". I am pleased to be able to offer my clients with Diastasis Recti a 1:1 programme focussing on the application of The Center Method for Diastasis Recti Recovery™ to aid restoration of the core musculature.
The Center Method is a rehabilitative method that incorporates breathwork, myofascial release techniques, and deep stabilising exercises to help you release, realign and restore the core musculature. I am a certified teacher in The Center Method™, believe passionately in its benefits and continue to use its techniques to improve and maintain my own abdominal function.
I offer an initial programme of 6x 1:1 sessions to get you started, during which you will be guided through the method and progressive programme. We look at the body from a holistic point of view, considering the impact of emotion, nutrition, fatgiue and body mechanics on the fascia. The method is designed to equip you with an understanding of your own body and the confidence to progress safely towards your regular exercise programme.
After the initial 6 sessions you can chose to continue your 1:1 sessions, or continue with your own self practice.
An initial package is £250, which includes 6x 1:1 sessions, plus a kit bag containing an information leaflet, Center for Women's Fitness myofascial release ball and a Pilates soft ball for you to keep.
Unsure whether The Center Method might be appropriate for you? If you think that your tummy muscles aren't quite right after childbirth but are unsure whether you have a Diastasis Recti, I offer an up to 30 minute consultation appointment for £20. During this appointment we will discuss and look at your tummy, perform a Diastasis Recti check and discuss what The Center Method involves and whether it might be suitable for you. I will also guide you through a simple breath work exercise that focusses on connection through the pelvic floor and abdominal musculature. If you decide on the day to continue with The Center Method programme, the £20 consultation fee will be deducted from the initial starter package fee.
Anyone who is worried about Diastasis Recti or simply wants to know more about tummy aware movement is welcome to join my closed Facebook group Precision Poise Diastasis and Pelvic Floor Support, where you can benefit from ongoing information and support regarding abdominal and pelvic floor function.
